We are forming a tenants union here in the city and county of Honolulu because we believe that housing is a human right. Hawai'i's landlords have had the run of the island for too long. Too many native Hawaiians, people of color, LGBTQ+, and other residents have been sent onto the streets or been forced to leave the island entirely due to a lack of affordable housing.
We will not rest until every person who doesn't own a home is represented, organized, and protected under a roof that they can afford. No landlord can stop us when we work together.
